DIY Mother's Day Card

It's almost Mother's Day! Can you think of a special lady who has been a mother-figure in your life or is an incredible mother-figure in someone else's life (Mother, Grandmother, Teacher)? Maybe a handmade card is just what you need to show her some love :) For my DIY Mother's Day card you will need a few supplies (like any DIY project, color and some materials are flexible to your preferences):

-envelope A2
-paper doily (Dollar Tree find!)
-pink card stock (4.25"x 5.5", 11.11cm x 14.6 cm)
-purple paper (light weight)
-black writing pen
-gold gel pen
-name brand glue stick
-scissors

You can stylize your handwriting for a fancy "Happy Mother's Day" on your card stock with your black and gold pen, leaving room to embellish the margins:

Next, cut out and color (with black and gold pen) a heart, "X," and "O," two stripes (4.25" long) out of purple paper, and corner and/or side doily pieces:

Now you're ready to glue it all together  (I gave the X, O, and heart a white border to make the colors pop a little more and tried to always have the color gold close to black so colors don't get lost):

tip: try to plan placement before gluing and don't be afraid to experiment, even if this means scratching the first few ideas :D

My finished card looks like this:

You're ready to write a little note and, maybe even jazz up the envelope :D
